  • Before you start your fundraise you need the baseline of VC relationships and all of your material has to be prepared
  • The milestones and/or fundraising story is in place
  • You have a short- and long list of VCs to target during your fundraise
  • You have identified ways of getting in touch with the various VCs
  • Two ways of starting a fundraise:
    • Smart reach outs to VCs to start the fundraise, playing on VC psychology
    • Use a trigger event as a catalyst for the fundraising start (in particular if you have not hit your milestones)
